DIVING WITH diving RABAC

Your Diving Day on the Croatian Adriatic

As a certified diver, you can explore the diverse underwater world around Rabac with us. We dive together at our Girandella house reef and organise boat trips to selected dive sites along the Istrian coast and throughout Kvarner Bay.

YOUR DIVING OPTIONS

Ways to Dive with Us

Whether you prefer diving at our Girandella house reef or joining a boat trip, we offer a variety of diving experiences around Rabac.

GIRANDELLA HOUSE REEF

Relaxed Diving at Our House Reef

Our house reef at Girandella offers ideal conditions for relaxed shore dives. We provide transport from our dive centre by shuttle bus to the entry point at the dog beach.

Once there, we prepare for the dive and enter the water directly from the shore. The house reef is ideal for leisurely dives as well as for divers who want to ease back into diving after a longer break.

BOAT DIVING

Explore Selected Dive Sites by Boat

Our dive boat takes us to a variety of dive sites along the coast around Rabac and throughout Kvarner Bay. Depending on the weather, diving conditions and experience of our divers, we choose the most suitable destination for each diving day.

Our boat trips take you to diverse underwater landscapes featuring fascinating rock formations, steep walls and other exciting dive sites that cannot be reached from shore.

WRECK DIVING

Discover History Beneath the Surface

Several fascinating shipwrecks lie around Istria and in Kvarner Bay, making them some of the region’s most remarkable dive sites. We plan suitable wreck dives based on each diver’s certification, experience and the prevailing conditions.

Some wrecks are accessible to recreational divers, while deeper sites are reserved for appropriately trained and experienced divers. This allows us to select wreck diving destinations that match each diver’s qualifications and the planned diving depth.

DIVING WITH PERSONAL ATTENTION

Well Organised. Personally Guided.

At diving RABAC, our priority is not to accommodate as many divers as possible, but to provide a well-organised and relaxed diving experience. We plan our dives around the experience, interests and needs of our guests, taking the prevailing conditions into account, and provide personal attention throughout the diving day.

Small Groups

Keeping our groups small allows us to provide personal attention and a relaxed experience both above and below the surface.

Suitable Dive Sites

We select dive sites based on our guests’ experience and interests, as well as the weather and current diving conditions.

Personal Dive Briefing

Before every dive, we discuss the dive site, the planned procedure and any special considerations so that everyone enters the water well prepared.

Flexible Planning

Depending on the conditions and our daily schedule, we combine shore dives, boat trips and other suitable diving destinations.

HOW YOUR DIVING DAY WORKS

From Preparation to Your Post-Dive Beer

A relaxed diving day starts with good organisation. We prepare the tanks, take care of the logistics for each dive site and make sure there is time to relax and share experiences after the dive.

9:00 AM

Meet at the Dive Centre

We meet at the dive centre at 9:00 AM. The tanks are already prepared, so you can start assembling your diving equipment straight away.

We then load the equipment for shore dives onto our bus. For boat dives, the equipment is transported to the departure point in our red tuk-tuk.

BEFORE THE DIVE

Briefing and Departure

Before we set off, we hold a dive briefing together in our lounge. Afterwards, we put on our wetsuits halfway and head to the dive site.

For shore dives at Girandella, we travel together by bus. For boat dives, divers walk to the boarding point by the boat crane, while their equipment has already been transported to the boat.

TIME TO DIVE

Let’s Get in the Water

Once we arrive at the dive site, we get ready for the dive together. After completing our buddy checks, we enter the water and explore the planned dive site.

After the dive, water, tea and, of course, biscuits are waiting for you. There’s still time to relax and share your first impressions of the dive.

BACK AT THE DIVE CENTRE

Take Care of Your Gear and Relax

Afterwards, we return to the dive centre, where the diving equipment is rinsed and prepared for the next dive or left to dry.

Your BCD, wetsuit, boots, hood and gloves can be hung up in our drying room. Your mask, dive computer, fins and regulator can be safely stored in a box at the dive centre.

ADDITIONAL DIVES

Another Dive in the Afternoon

At 1:30 PM, we meet again at the dive centre for the second dive of the day. The routine is the same as in the morning: prepare the equipment, attend the briefing in our lounge and then head to the planned dive site together.

On days when a night dive is scheduled, we meet at the dive centre for the final time at 7:30 PM. After the last dive of the day, the equipment is rinsed, hung up in the drying room or safely stored at the dive centre.

And What If There’s No Night Dive?

Then there’s time in the afternoon to enjoy a well-earned post-dive beer together in our lounge. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, look back on the day’s dives and share our underwater experiences.

REQUIREMENTS & EQUIPMENT

What You Need for Your Dive

Already a certified diver? Then you’re all set to enjoy a diving day with us. To help us plan suitable dives, we’ll need some information about your diving certification and experience in advance.

What You Should Bring

Please bring proof of your diving certification and let us know about your previous diving experience and the date of your last dive. If you are diving with your own equipment, you are also welcome to bring your own tank and weights.

A dive computer is mandatory for all dives. If you don’t have your own, you can rent one from diving RABAC for an additional fee.

Don’t Have Your Own Equipment?

No problem! You can rent individual pieces of equipment or a complete set of scuba diving gear from us. Our rental equipment includes BCDs, regulators, masks, fins, boots, hoods, gloves, wetsuits and shorties.

Scuba tanks and weights are also available to rent. We do not offer drysuit rentals. Additional equipment, including dive computers, torches, surface marker buoys and compasses, is also available for hire.
